Dodge City, Kansas

The “Why Not Dodge” program was created to diversify economic and tourism activity in Dodge City, Kansas. With over 100 volunteers participating, the program has improved local entertainment and meeting facilities in the city, and is designed to continue to improve the tourism industry in the Dodge City area. Coalition for the Youth of Dodge City pursues funding and coordinates resources for a series of community improvement projects that will better the safety and educational and health opportunities of youth. The coalition helps youth become productive, law-abiding, capable citizens of the community, nation, and world. The Alley, a community youth center, was formed as a safe gathering place and provides affordable entertainment for teens. A youth board of directors plans and implements all of the center’s events and oversees the maintenance and cleaning of the facility.
