Brush Creek Community Partners (BCCP) is a community collaboration
to develop the Brush Creek corridor of Kansas City, Missouri into a world-class
cultural and research district surrounded by healthy neighborhoods. The BCCP
revitalizes older neighborhoods and develops healthier cultural relations
through community involvement. KC150 capitalizes on the citys
150-year history to challenge community members to make Kansas City a better
place. Planned citywide events educate all citizens to positively influence
future decisions on civic improvement projects. YouthFriends
is a school-based mentoring effort connecting volunteers from a wide range
of backgrounds to young people in grades Kindergarten through 12. Twenty-seven
area schools now participate, placing over 10,000 volunteers to positively
influence the lives of more than 62,000 young people.
