The location and development of the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, a community which suffered the nation's severest D-Day losses in proportion to its size, is a true community story, involving Bedford citizens reconciling themselves with the past and moving forward with a common purpose, to date over 300,000 people have visited the memorial. Bedford Ride is a community owned and operated Medical Transportation System providing services for persons with no other practical means of transportation available, long term benefits include familiarizing patients with health related resources in their community.
