Red Wing, Minnesota
Community Conversations, a community-wide project, gathered groups from
neighborhoods, schools, civic organizations, business, government and the community
to address the question, "In the next 3-5 years, what must Red Wing do
to make it the best community in which to live and work?" These meetings
grabbed the attention of the community and provided a role model for its newer
population. Red Wing's Economic Summit, comprised of various organizations,
governance, business, labor and the public, accessed the community's current
assets, defined those that might be threatened in the future, and then strove
to find ways to define and implement a way to reach solutions. The Children
First Partnership is a community initiative with the mission to build a
community which puts children first in order to create a better tomorrow for
everyone.
