Corpus Christi, Texas

Forward Corpus Christi, a diverse grassroots citizens' organization focused on achieving greater economic strength and improved quality of life for Corpus Christi residents, has passed eight bond and sales tax ballot measures that will help attract new businesses and jobs, improve facilities, create more affordable housing and provide increased family entertainment options. Through the talents and backgrounds of volunteers, the Corpus Christi Air Quality Group has produced results in scientific modeling, research and identification of ozone causing emission sources, development and implementation of emission reduction strategies, public health research. outreach and education initiatives, air quality curricula in schools K-12 and State legislative lobbying for funding. The Juvenile Assessment Center of the City of Corpus Christi Park & Recreation Department, a temporary holding facility for juveniles arrested for curfew violations or for truancy, is working to decrease juvenile crime by helping at-risk families connect with the services they need to help their children avoid delinquency and become productive citizens of the community.
