Program Design and Implementation
As a growing number of federal, state, and philanthropic organizations
experiment with the use of community-level collaboration in implementing
broad policy goals, Community Services can assist these organizations
in designing the collaborative components of their programs to maximize
the likelihood of success. Typically, we develop a multi-faceted approach
that can include design assistance, training, coaching, technical assistance
to communities, publications and other forms of technical assistance.
Community Services can also help community leaders tailor and apply
the best concepts and models of collaborative decision making to specific
projects. Consultations typically take the form of meetings between
our staff and a few community leaders early in the life of a project
to discuss particulars of a local situation and how collaborative tools
can be used. Coaching also can take place during the course of project
implementation, focusing on ways of working through implementation "glitches."
